Any Canadian citizen 18 years of age or older, and who has not been living out of the country for 5 years or more may vote in a Federal Election.

(Note: In 2002, the Supreme Court of Canada struck down a provision that prohibited people serving prison sentences of 2 years or more from voting. All incarcerated citizens may vote.)
