Rachel, Finn and Kurt got kicked off Glee because they were getting too old for the show. The cast of Glee need to look like they are in High School, so obviously Ryan Murphy decided that they looked too old. Finn is actually 29 so he is a bit old for High School.
Do not despair though. The winners of the Glee Project will get some episodes in Season 3, so look out for some new faces! :)
