Does ace die in one piece?
Ace finally does die in Chapter 574 after being punched through the chest by Akainu in the previous chapter. After a huge war between the whitebeard pirates and the marines. Whitebeard offers to let Luffy assist them and luffy manages to free Ace, but when they are running, Ace starts fighting Admiral Akainu. Akainu attacks Luffy while he is down and Ace jumps in the way. he is pierced through the chest by lava. ace dies in the next chapter.
Will luffy kill akainu?
Maybe.... i´m not sure to talk you about that... but definitely Luffy will fight Akainu again to revenge Ace and will beat him. but Luffy is a person that hates kill people. he never had killed a villan, even if he faced a very bad guy that made horrible things.... but maybe he will have to supress his afraid and kill Akainu and Blackbeard that are his major enimies.

Even though Ace had a power of intangibility, his fire powers were overidden by the 'superior' power of magma. The wound was fatal and he died moments later.
