Who is Naruto from the cartoon Naruto?

Naruto Uzumaki is a fictional character who lives in the Konoha Village. When he was born, the Fourth Hokage, his dad, sealed the Kyuubi inside Naruto. The Kyuubi is a fox demon who is the most powerful bijju out of nine. He is a trouble maker at the beginning of the show but that changes throughout the series. His teamates are Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno. His sensei, teacher, is Kakashi Hatake. His best friend is Sasuke Uchiha but Sasuke leaves to Orochimaru, one of the villians in the story. Naruto is encouraged to get his friend back for Sakura, his crush. There is another season that is called Season called Naruto Shippuden. It takes place 2 and a half years later than the previous season(s). In America it's called Naruto Hurricane Chronicles. Starting on January 15, 2009, Naruto.com will start showing Naruto Shippuden episodes subbed for free. It is not sure if Cartoon Network will continue the Naruto series after the last season before Shippuden, but there is a high possiblity that it will happen.

Naruto Uzumaki is a Ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village of Konoha.

He works alongside Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha, underneath the guidance of their teacher (sensei) Kakashi Hatake.

Naruto is the main protagonist of the series, who is used as the container, or prison, for one of the antagonist's of the series, the Kyuubi; a tailed beast which terrorised Konoha prior to Naruto's birth, where it was defeated and sealed inside of Naruto as a baby.

The 1st series follows Naruto learning to become a Ninja and overcoming the plights that are thrown his way; such as Orochimaru, the Akatsuki, the awakening and controlling of the Kyuubi, the hatred of his village towards himself, loosing friends - mostly Sasuke, and proving himself.

Shippuden however, focuses on an older, stronger Naruto, fighting against the Akatsuki and trying to find and retrieve his friend Sasuke, whilst working under the Toad-Sage and Legendary Sannin, Jiraya.
