Yamcha (Yamucha in Japanese culture) is a 16-year old swordsmen in Dragon Ball, who soon grows up. He was a notorious bandit until he became friends with goku.

His timid nature grants him the weakness of being unable to fight and even move when faced to girls like Bulma. His loyal companion is Puar, which is the name pun on Pu-erh Tea. Yamcha's name pun is for the fruit Yam. According to Android nineteen's calculations, Yamcha is 183 centimeters tall and weighs 68 kilograms, during the Android Saga.

Yamcha is a clever master of the Rogafufuken, a fictional hand-to-hand art. In fact, it's his specialty. He's also learned the Turtle Hermit's choice of moves like the Kamehameha wave. His other attack is called Sokidan. The Sokidan is an extremely fast homing sphere capable of racing underground for a surprise attack. Just like his friends, he is able to use Bukujutsu, which allows him to fly. Yamcha studied under the North Kai after being killed by one the Saiyan's (say-in's) Saibamen (sai-ba-men), green, horrific creatures. His strength grew while in the Other World, including training under the teachings of the North Kai. He also pre-trained to confront the Saiyans with Kami (God), so that added to his power.

Yamcha's relationship to Bulma ended in Dragon Ball Z, since Yamcha continuously flirted with other girls. In the Android Saga, Bulma married Vegeta.

In Dragon Ball GT, Yamcha makes cameo appearances like Tien or none at all. His seiyu is Toru Furuya. In the U. S., they dubbed it so Ted Cole played him until later Christopher Sabat.
