William Hudnut III was mayor of Indianapolis from 1976 to 1992. While he was mayor, he was instrumental in convincing the Baltimore Colts to move to Indianapolis, which they did for the 1984 season. Hudnut later moved to Chevy Chase, MD, where he also served as mayor from 2005 to 2007. He is an ordained (1957) Presbyterian minister. He moved to Indianapolis in 1963, and served one term in Congress in the early 1970s.
