Raito is Light. Consider how R and L are almost equal letters in Japanese. Laito-Lighto
They changed it to just Light for the English anime. They also changed Ryuku to Ryuk and Remuu to Remm =) hope this helps
In Japanese - Raito In English - Light This is because Raito is the Japanese pronounciation of Light. EDIT: Because of Japanese pronunciation, it's pronounced Raito because in Japanese all 'l' are pronounced as 'r'
Well Death Note is not a person so it has no sexuality. If you are asking if Death Note is "happy" then no, a lot of people die in Death Note.If you are asking if Death Note is stupid or a bad anime/manga then you should watch/read it because not everyone has the same opinion and if I said it was good or bad, that would not be a fact.If you are asking for people's opinions on it then here's mine: I thought Death Note was a very good series and it had me anticipating every moment of it and i do recommend it to those who haven't seen it.EDIT by G.-P. : ... And if you are asking if there are gay (=homosexual) people in Death Note - and, probably and more specifically, "Is Light (Raito) or Ryûzaki gay?", then the answer is "There are a lot of homosexual innuendo in Death Note"(I say innuendo, but it is sometimes much more than hinted at; in episode 25 of the Anime for instance: the Ryûzaki-drying-Raito's-feet scene is incredibly explicit)['I don't mean explicit' as in ostentatious, but as in ostensible, Thus, not "showing genitalia and male on male sexual intercourse" but 'making it self-evident that they are gay (or should really consider starting being gay soon)"
Death Note. The Death Note manga is better then the anime.
There are 37 episodes in the complete Death Note anime.
You can find Death Note abridged on Youtube.
"Raito" is just the Japanese way of pronuncing the name Light [Yagami]. L in Japanese is pronunced as r. So it is said/written many times.

it literally was a coincidence. ryuk himself says "you think you were chosen because you were so smart or something? don't be so vain. it just happened to fall around here, and you just happened to pick it up..." and i don't remember what he says after that.
