This has to be an opinionated question because if it isn't well than that is probably the dumbest question I ever saw and even being an opinionated question its extermely difficult. Practically everyone on that show has pros and cons you can easily make McNulty out to be as good or bad as Stringer. The least faulty characters hmm well I guess really the only character I can think of who never did anything bad, or at least not intentionally would have to be Prez but again I cannot really say that with any certinty whatsoever. I must disagree with the comment above. Although Prez is a great character (especially during season 4, hell yeah) there are other awesome characters. But other than that all I gotta say is O-M-A-R (Farmer in the Dell) L-I-T-T-L-E!

It is best answered by the link below, like many Television series there have been a lot of directors since it started.
The HBO series "The Wire" ended after its fifth season primarily because its creator, David Simon, felt that the story had reached its natural conclusion. He wanted to ensure the narrative remained impactful and did not overstay its welcome. Additionally, HBO was supportive of Simon's decision, recognizing the show's artistic integrity and the desire to maintain high-quality storytelling. Ultimately, "The Wire" concluded with a focus on the complexities of urban life and systemic issues, leaving a lasting legacy.
