On account of the Treaty of Paris in 1783, Spain claimed all of present-day Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, parts of Minnesota that were west of the Mississippi River, most of North Dakota, nearly all of South Dakota, northeastern New Mexico, the portions of Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado east of the Continental Divide, and Louisiana west of the Mississippi River, including the city of New Orleans. (The Oklahoma Panhandle and southwestern portions of Kansas and Louisiana were still claimed by Spain. Spain also controlled New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, the southern parts of Alabama and Mississippi, and Florida prior to the acquisitions it made under the Treaty of Paris in 1783.
Oceans are not owned by any country. Most countries decide how far out from their land border they will claim as territory. The United States for example claims 15 miles as its territory out into the ocean.
In the north, yes. Farther south, Louisiana bordered the territory of Mexico, including most of Texas.
The Mississippi River formed most of the western boundary and the Ohio River formed most of the southern boundary of the territory. (Today, the state of Virginia, which was south of the Ohio, is now broken into Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia.)

The Northwest Territory was the land ceded by Virginia to the newly-created United States and basically extended west from Pennsylvania's western border and north from the Ohio River westward to the Mississippi River. It therefore included, wholly or in part, six present-day states: Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
