Although the American Revolution was not as violent as the French Revolution, they both made a big impact at cost many lives. One can also see the similarities through their connection with each other at this time. During the American Revolution, the French aided in the defeat of the British navy and land forces. This, in turn, cost them and put them in a deficit. This deficit added to the need for Revolution in France. Both Revolutions established a constitution with their own forms of government and citizen rights. The final stage of the French Revolution was the Directory. This was the establishment of Napoleon as France's new leader. After the American Revolution, President George Washington became President. After both Revolutions there was a strong and influential leader established.
