Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi was the Prime Minister of the Republic of India for three consecutive terms from 1966 to 1977 and for a fourth term from 1980 until her assassination in 1984, a total of fifteen years. She was India's first and to date, the only female prime minister. She does not have any relation to the famous Mahatma Gandhi.

NZ's First Female Prime Minister was Jenny Shipley, although she wasnt NZ's first elected Prime Minister. Jenny Shipley ousted the previous Prime Minister Jim Bolger in mid-1997. She was succeeded by the first elected Prime Minister, Helen Clark, in 1999.
