Goliath's head was buried there (Calvary) and this is where the name Golgotha is derived from. Goliath was a person sent by Satan himself to destroy the Hebrew (Israel) nation at that time when God chose David the Shepherd boy to slay him.

This is why when Jesus was crucified on top of the hill (Golgotha, which was predestined by God the Father, Jesus's precious blood that spilled on this hill fulfilled and sealed the promise God gave us. "Through His stripe's we are healed." And this is why we Christians proclaim that Satan was defeated at the Cross because this is exactly what Jesus did. Jesus descended into hell to hand Satan his imminent death certificate. All praises to our King, Lord Jesus.

The reference to this analogy was proven by the contemporary Pastor, Perry Stone.

Why is the bronze David statue standing on the head of Goliath?

David slung a stone from his sling; it sank into Goliath's forehead, and he fell to the earth. David followed this up by standing on Goliath and cutting off his head with the giant's own sword.

Was Goliath's head buried at Golgotha?

There is absolutely no source literature, not from the Early Church Fathers or any other source, which states that Goliath's head was buried at Golgotha. And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent. 1.Sam 17,54 According to this scripture, the head of Goliath was brought to Jerusalem. What happened to the head after this is never mentioned.

Why is king david familiar in biblical history?

How big was the stone David used to kill Goliath?

After David carefully sized up Goliath, he then grabbed from his purse a smooth stone given to him after recently falling from the sky landing just inches from his left foot. Once he picked out the stone he immediately knew that its size, weight and especially its shape was the perfect candidate to take the giant Goliath out and off the battlefield indefinitely. After dodging to and from these enormous spears, one of them just narrowly hitting David's right cheek leaving a three inch gash that began to bleed heavily though poised non life threatening and it was at that point in time that David in a span of just three seconds let loose everything he had and released the smooth stone from his homemade sling hitting the giant sharply in the neck doe to its limit of armor therefore exploiting the best possible opportunity to take Goliath out of the equation but without killing him by showing mercy. If Goliath wanted to die that morning it would of been buy his own hands and not that of David's... Incidentally I possess the smooth stone in question...
