Why are they splitting up the the book breaking dawn into two movies?

Because Stephenie Meyer wanted to show what it was like to beJacob in a sense and for people to get in his head and understand him a little better. And maybe know why he can be a jerk at some points.

Because of Breaking dawn the book it has two sides Jacob's And Bella's if you read it you will know that there is a part where you can read Jacobs mind and another part where you can read Bella's mind! and it also the last book so they always put the last movie of a book series into two parts.

Summit Entertainment felt that, because of the importance of this series to fans across the world, in order to satisfy them and make Breaking Dawn a film as close to the novel as possible, they need to release it in 2 parts. Some rumors are going around that they will split in between Bella's two different lives (meaning the first part will be while she is human and the second part will pick up after she has been changed) but again that is just a rumor.
