Why can't they just make a 4th season of Avatar the Last Air Bender why are they making a new series called The Legend of Korra?
The creators felt that they were able to end Aangs journey at the end of Avatar the Last Airbender as it was mainly Aang having to defeat the firelord and end the war. The Legend of Korra is meant to be almost a spin off/add on for The Last Airbender. The creators talk about showing clips of what happened after the series ended to answer questions like what happens to the gang, and what becomes of zukos mother.
