'Wicked' producer Marc Platt wanted the musical to be performed in Wichita, Kansas largely for personal reasons. He and his wife Julie Beren were married in Wichita, Kansas. His in-laws still live in Wichita. His mother-in-law, Joan Beren, was one of the first 'Wicked' investors.
'Wicked' played at the Century II Convention Center in Wichita from October 21st to November 8th, 2009.
