In an interview with Ranger co-star Johnny Yong Bosch she claimed that the hours were too demanding and so she opted to leave the series. She also reveals that she was to be given an existing story arc like Amy Jo Johnson but the producers found a way around it and gave her the exit you see at the end of Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers.
Jason David Frank was missing for some of the episodes in which his character Tommy was stuck morphed because it was part of the agreement that was made between him and the Dino Thunder Executive Producers in order to get him to return, he agreed to return if he was allowed to leave for a few episodes to go back home to spend some time with his family and to check up on his dojo business.

It depends on what you mean by that. There have been 3 ninja-themed seasons so far: Mighty Morphin Season 3, Ninja Storm, and Ninja Steel. However, in Mighty Morphin Season 3 they're still wearing the dinosaur-themed Zyuranger suits while piloting the ninja-themed Kakuranger zords. The ninja-themed suits from Kakuranger are used in Power Rangers, but only in the Alien Rangers miniseries, and being ninjas is never acknowledged there. So depending how you count it: 6 Rangers from MMPR Season 3 5 from Alien Rangers 5 or 6 Ninja Storm rangers, depending on if you count Cam being the "Green Samurai Ranger" as a ninja or not. 6 Ninja Steel rangers So between 16 and 23 depending on how you count it. 16 if you only count rangers in ninja costumes and leave Cam off, 23 if you count everyone both everyone who is from a ninja-themed show and everyone in a ninja-themed outfit.
Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver, and Amy Jo Johnson, who portrayed Kimberly Ann Hart, left "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" primarily due to personal reasons and the natural progression of their characters' storylines. As the show evolved, the producers decided to introduce new characters to refresh the cast and maintain viewer interest. Jason's departure was also tied to his desire to pursue other acting opportunities and projects. Ultimately, these changes were part of the series' ongoing evolution during its early years.
