Why did Katie Stevens get voted off idol?

Firstly, she was laid up in bed with a temperature three days before she was due to perform and had lost her voice. She still had a sore throat on the night, it was very lucky she sang at all.

Secondly, one of the judges said "Vote responsibly, America" which may have swayed the vote. They worried about her age but the vote was supposed to be for talent not age and a free vote shouldn't be influenced by a judge anyway.

Fairer to say she was voted up to the top 10 rather than voted off, in fact a judge said about the Top 10 "...all of them are winners, all of them are going to go on to have amazing careers in the entertainment industry" as indeed she is doing.

She received the lowest votes. Personally, I thought she was great. She didnt deserve to go home. I like her better than Siobhan. She was always my favorite girl singer in the competition.
