You have to read the account very carefully. Here, The Bible isn't talking about literal lame and blind people. David was conducting a military campaign against the Jubusites. The Jebusites were so confident that their citadel (or fortress) was so impregnable that they taunted David, saying that even their feeble, lame, and blind could defend the fortress of Zion against him and his forces.-2Sa 5:6, 8.
