Manoj (Karanvir) left 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' in April 2007 because the show was going to take a 20-year leap. He was expected to play a father of three teenagers. Karanvir felt the audiences would feel cheated if he became a father overnight. He felt they would not be convinced. Instead of doing a role he didn't believe in, he chose to leave the show so audiences would always remember him as the Prem they loved. (And sometimes hated!) Later, he was approached to play one of his own kids but he thought that would be too weird for the audiences so he turned it down. Karanvir says he loved playing Prem and if it hadn't been for the 20-year-leap, he would've continued on with show. (This is one case where Ekta should've stretched the track a little longer!) Karanvir is currently working on a film project, to be released later this year.
