Because we are going through difficult times. The last time was in the 70s. People thought that this might be it, our best days were behind us and then Ronald Regan stepped in and brought back a positivism to some Americans and in the 80s the US flourished. These times will also pass and things will get better we just don't know the timing.

∙ 12y agobecause it was too hard and many people start moving to the west to farm, that was because land was cheap to buy. people started farming and forgot about the american drea sometimes the crops weren't good and the crops got flooded which means lost of money and new techniques came in so people did less work and more machniary work was done
