Lifeboats of the Titanic did not ever reach to shore. The survivors were picked up from the lifeboats by other ships.
Rich people got in the lifeboats first. There weren't enough time so some people jumped out the Titanic. Others held on for their lives hoping they would live, or land in the cold water instead of landing on part of the boat which would kill them.
Titanic's fourteen standard lifeboats, at 30 ft. long, could fit about 70 people if need be. The two cutters and four Englehardts were slightly smaller and thus could carry slightly fewer people.
Depends what life boats you mean but from about 12:45 to 5:00am depending on the boat they were in.
They got on to lifeboats, and were then rowed to the Carpathia, which went to America, but 3/4 of the people on board Titanic, mainly men, lost their lives, either by drowning or by frostbite, because the temperature was -2 (celsius), and the water was probably much colder, so they would have frozen to death. The only way anybody survived Titanic was to get seats on any of the lifeboats leaving the ship.

It took 4 hours for the Carpathia to reach the Titanic, so they arrived 2 hours after the Titanicsank.
The fourteen wooden lifeboats were 30 ft. long, the two cutters were 25 ft., 2 in., and the four Englehardts were 27 ft., 5in.
Most lifeboats have a small compartment containing a few bottles of fresh water and some cookies and maybe a few other small snacks, but they werent made to last long.
The other ships were too far away to get to the titanic in time. Thus, the lifeboats were the only rescue.

It took 4 hours to get all the survivors from the lifeboats to the ship from 4 am to 8 am on April 15, 1912.
I believe thast it was because the creator of the Titanic felt that it would take away from the beauty of the ship. And being coined "unsinkable". On its maiden voage the passangers may have been a bit too many but they where on a course. Full steam ahead !!! (I mean i wasnt there but that's what I think).--The Titanic had as many lifeboats as was required by law during the period she was built. At the time the ship was considered to be capable of staying afloat long enough to be its own life boat.
