When the Titanic hit the ice cap the bottom started to leak first which happened to be where the saftey equiptment was. The water was freezing so if they went down they may have escaped drowning and died of nuemonia instead, either way they would have died.

How many people got saved when the titanic sank?

2AnswerActually, about 711 people "survived". A few lost, so they were guessed as survived, and some escaped on lifeboats. The plot of the movie Titanic is completely fake, except for the boat sinking.

That is probably because RMS Titanic was said to be unsinkable. It was supposed to be impossible for it to sink, but it did. It was also a big disaster because very many people lost their life in the accident.

How many life jackets did the Titanic hold?

As many people as there was on the ship but some people wouldn't even put them on [those people were mostly men] and they were called life protecters. The water temperature in the North Atlantic meant that they provided only momentary protection. Without rescue vessels on standby, they probably had only ten minutes added to their lifetimes.
