Island Caribs or the Kalinago lived on various islands of the Caribbean. The Spanish claimed they were cannibals. However this may be because it allowed the Spanish to enslave them. It was their custom to keep the bones of their ancestors in their houses as a part of their religion. The Island Caribs had migrated from South America about three hundred years before Columbus.

The Caribs, an indigenous group from the Caribbean, traditionally played a variety of games, including ball games similar to the Mesoamerican ballgame. One notable game was called "batey," which involved a rubber ball and was played between two teams. These games had social and ritual significance, often serving as a form of entertainment and a way to settle disputes or reinforce community bonds.
