It was the Hundred Years War
Tensions between England and France erupted into war when Edward III declared himself King of France. This claim began what is known as the Hundred Years wars. Despite several great victories, Edward accepted the terms of the Treaty of Bretigny where he relinquished his claim to the French throne.
Joan of Arc benefited France in that she scored stunning victories against the English invaders, especially at the Battle of Orleans, eventually leading to the retreat of the English from France altogether. However, the Hundred Years War did not benefit France; it destroyed much of the country.
It lasted from 1337 to 1453, which is 116 years, there were various truces and times of peace, but they were actually at war with each other for a total of 83 years.
