No. African tribes who were waring sold each other into slavery. Yes, Arabs were very busy slave traders and still are. The slave trade has reduced and 'gone underground', but still exists in the middle east and Balkan states. Western countries and the UN turn a blind eye to it because they don't have the willpower to stop it.
