From a Buddhist perspective karma means causality, cause and effect. it appears to offer a reliable explanation for what we observe all around us.

Put simply, most phenomenon that are impermanent cannot arise independently so are subject to causes and conditions. Where there is a cause there will be an effect. This rule could be applied to the movement of the planets, workings of a computer or human behaviour.
