Stanley Yelnats' nickname "Caveman" is ironic because, despite being called a "caveman," he is not primitive or uncivilized; rather, he is kind-hearted and thoughtful. The nickname is derived from his appearance and the fact that he is often seen as an outsider, but it contrasts sharply with his inner character and intelligence. Additionally, the nickname highlights the harsh environment of Camp Green Lake, where the boys are stripped of their individuality, yet Stanley's true nature shines through.

Dough Boys I think.
Which of the boys is the understood leader? How do you know this?
The atmosphere is very dull at the start of the book ' Holes ' because Stanley Yelnats is having a miserable life. He has been cursed and is know realizing how bad it is. He then gets very upset about going to a Camp which is for bad boys, but after he is transferred to there Stanley then realizes that it isn't as bad as he thinks. The atmosphere is builds up halfway through the book when him and his new friends begin to discover more about each-other. Stanley settles in quickly and gets a Nickname ' Caveman '. The atmosphere then settles down but not too much when Stanley begins to dig holes. Hope I Helped Guys! Amaan Iqbal
