Darry slapped Ponyboy during an arguement. Ponyboy had fallen asleep in the vacant lot with Johnny and hadn't gotten home until 2 AM. Soda tried to stick up for Ponyboy and Darry yelled at Soda. When Ponyboy raised his voice to his oldest brother, Darry hit him. Darry was not really angry at Pony...he was just scared that something had happened to him and was upset that Pony had done something as careless as fall asleep in the lot.
Darry hits Ponyboy because it was late and Pony was not home, Darry and Soda-pop were both worried and wondered where Ponyboy could be at that time...Then when Ponyboy came back Darry was upset and slaped Ponyboy but he didn't really mean it...
Ponyboy came home at 2:00 in the morning after falling asleep in the vacant lot with Johnny (2 hours after his curfew on non-school nights). Darry had no idea were he was at and that scared the living crap out of Darry. So Darry yelled because the fear of something bad might have happened to Ponyboy and he just let his anger out when he saw that pony was alright.
because he was pissed he didnt come home on time and he was tired and confuised cause he is taking care of 2 boys on his own and trying to keep them out of troulble pluss he was upset cause he didnt tell him where he was and he was about to call the cops cause he was so worried
Because he was mad Ponyboy came home late
and he was worried sick so he let his anger at that take control
I believe Darry hit Ponyboy because they had gotten into a heated argument because Pony had gotten home late after falling asleep in the vacant lot with Johnny.
I think Darry did hit Ponyboy from Outsider because he was under a lot of pressure of taking care of him.
because he come home late
Because ponyboy breaks his curfew
he brought johnny home
Darry slaps Ponyboy.
yes
Because Darry loves Pony and doesn't want him and Soda to be put in a boys home, but can only do so much to take care of him when Pony doesn't use his head, so he gets mad so Pony doesn't risk the boys home situation again. Also, Darry is a very stern guy, so it is hard for him to have a good relationship with Ponyboy, like Sodapop and Ponyboy do.
Chapter 3
i know that they are 3 brothers and they are in the greasers gang in the book the outsiders

There is no Johnny Curtis, there is Johnny Cade and the 3 Curtis boys: Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry.
1. Ponyboy gets jumped walking home from the movies 2. Darry hits Ponyboy 3. Johnny and Ponyboy get jumped by five Socs at the park 4. Johnny and Ponyboy head to Windrixville to hide in a church from the police 5. The church gets set on fire and Johnny and Ponyboy run in to save some little kids, and then Dally runs in after to save Johnny. 6. Rumble 7. Johnny dies 8. Dallas dies 9. Sodapop receives his letter to Sandy back and unopened, then he can't stand Darry and Ponyboy bickering and runs out 10. They all go to court and Ponyboy is allowed to stay with Darry
There are a ton. One is Ponyboy vs. the grief of getting over the death of Johnny.
1.) In the movie, there are animals staying inside the abandoned church, unlike in the movie.2.) In the movie, Ponyboy runs away because Darry pushed him down to the ground as a result for being home past curfew. In the book, Ponyboy was slapped across the face by Darry for being late.3.) In the book, Marcia and Two-Bit exchanged numbers after the drive-in movies. This was not seen in the movie.
