Pretty much just to keep his eyes on him. You see, Pippin looked in to the Palantiri and that made Sauron think he was the one with the ring. That was partly a good thing so Sauron wouldn't be after Frodo. But it also put Pippin in a lot of danger and Gandalf didn't want him to get captured and taken to Sauron who would've then questioned him until he found out about Frodo and his plan. Hope this helps.

Who played Gandalf the Gray?

---- Gandalf is a character from J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth stories. He is a Maia, a minor god or angel. In the Third Age, he and a few others like him were sent on a mission to help the peoples of Middle-earth against Sauron. For this mission they have been given the shape of old men. In Middle-earth this group is known as the Istari, and mortals have called them "wizards". ---- One of the wizards from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. He is the one who sets them on their quest and protects them along the way. He first appears in the Hobbit, leading the dwarves to Bilbo's door and coaxes Billbo to leave the shire to help free the lonely mountain from the dragon. In the LOTR series he sacrifices his life while fighting the Balrog in the Mines but is sent back in the second novel as Gandalf The White. Gandalf represents the good magic used to help others while Sauromon, his old friend and ally is the embodiment of evil magic used for selfish goals. It is said that Gandalf was a kind of angel, he is a member of the council and if things had have gone as planned he would have headed the council. ----Gandalf is not a mortal, nor a human, nor a "wizard" of the generic fantasy spellcasting type. (In Tolkien's world, "generic fantasy wizards" with spells, and magic tomes and potions do not exist.)Gandalf is a Maia, a minor god or angel, created before the creation of the phsical world. He is naturally incorporeal, but can take on any form. He and a few others have been sent on a mission to help the peoples of Middle-earth against Sauron, a mission for which they have been clothed and bound in the form of old men; they are called the Istari, and mortals have called them "wizards".Gandalf, in his current form of an old man, arrived in Middle-earth in the 11th century T.A. The physical body he has been clothed in limits him, his power and knowledge, but it does not really age. How we get to see him in the LotR has been his appearance for the past two thousand years.Gandalf Greyhame is the wizard who later in The Two Towers becomes Gandalf the White. He is a friend of Frodo and Bilbo Baggins.

What events happened in Fangorn Forest in Lord of the Rings?

Well, I think it was Randgast .. he freed the horses - he loved animals - and he is a shape changer, so he can take the shape of and old man.. Merry and Pippin met Treebeard which was the catalyst for the ents to destroy Isenguard. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli searched through Fangorn looking for the two hobbits and found Gandalf instead. Gandalf then led them to Meduseld where he helped Rohan become stable and ready for war.

Why does Gandalf hate Pippin?

Gandalf knows that Gollum is not entirely evil. There is still the good "Smeagol" side to him. Even though he is very wise Gandalf cannot see the ultimate fate of the Ring, but he senses that Gollum will have some part to play for good or evil, so, like he says, "the pity of Bilbo [and himself] may rule the fate of many." Also, Gandalf is not the type of person who will kill recklessly. And he himself, good and powerful though he is, has been tempted by the Ring's power, so he can vaguely understand Gollum's misery. Gandalf is very much like Jesus, who was tempted by Satan and can understand, though not agree with, a human's lust for power and easily corruptible heart.

How do you beat minas tirith?

In order to capture Minas Tirith, you would first have to break through their outer gate under a barrage of arrows. Once inside the main gate, you would still have to fight your way through legions of soldiers to the second gate. This pattern would continue up the tiers of the city until you finally reach the palace where you would encounter either the steward or king of Gondor, depending on the time period of your invasion. Such an attack would take hundreds of thousands of soldiers, so it might be best to send in the expendable, mutilated orcs first, followed by the more skilled and hardy Easterlings. A battering ram of substantial size will be needed to break through the main gate, but hammer wielding trolls will be sufficient for the inner gates.

Where is Gandalf from The Hobbit located?

Gandalf is not a place, he is a wizard. Gandalf the Gray. He is the head of the Company of dwarves, plus Bilbo Baggins, who are determined to travel through dangerous lands, over The Edge of the Wild, and through the Misty Mountains, all the way to the Lonely Mountain, to take revenge on the evil dragon who stole their treasure and desolated their people.

In 'The Hobbit' why does Gandalf knock on the door hard?

Because the previous morning, Gandalf had "scratched a queer sign on the hobbit's beautiful green front door" as a sign so that the dwarves would know that Bilbo was the one he had chosen to go on their adventure with them. By knocking very hard on the mark with his staff, Gandalf put a dent in the wood over top of where the sign had been, erasing any evidence that it had been there. That way, Bilbo would not blame Gandalf for all of the dwarves coming to his house to take him on an adventure.

What does Gandalf say before he falls?

In the Return of the King film (2003) End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it. Pippin: What, Gandalf? See what? Gandalf: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise. The grey curtain and silver glass bit is taken from the very last page of The Return of the King book when Frodo actually sees his unremembered dream come true from The Fellowship of the Ring book, while Frodo and the hobbits are staying at Tom Bombadil's house.
