Johnny was never in the right atmosphere to be reading quality books, or even any books at all!
Johnny and Ponyboy have always shared this type of soft, sensitive personality. They enjoy life and have a special way of looking at it. Its beauties and colors, all of which some might not see in the same persupective. This explaines why they enjoy and relate to :
Robert Frost ( Nothing Gold Can Stay) :
Meaning that when all things ( creations) start out, thay start out as gold. It's 'natures's first hue' . You must cherish each moment and make the most out of it.
For example; a child. No child stays a child forever.
" Dawn goes down today" : Nothing is eternal !!
" Her early leafs a flower but not only so and our when leaf subsides of leaf so Eden sank to greif: Beauty can be taken away in a second. Otherwise meaning the flower ( or creation) will bloom to its fullest then start to subside to nothing. Be thankful and match your steps.
Ponyboy and Johnny lear that good things in life do not last forever. This poem also REFERS TO SUNSETS. Pony adores sunsets and ever since he's intoduced his descrptions for a sunset, Johnny had started to admire them aswell.
" Sunsets are short... But it's possible Ponyboy proves, to remain true to ones self and therby " STAY GOLD"
Johnny wants Ponyboy and Two-Bit to bring him another paperback copy of Gone with the Wind, so Ponyboy can continue reading it to him like he did before the fire.Source: The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton
Johnny cared for ponyboy like a brother he didn't wont anything to happen to ponyboy
Based on the outsiders by SE Hinton I think Ponyboy and Johnny alike in many ways like they are both tuff and they both decided to run away because ponyboy got slapped by dary because ponyboy was out late also they are both in the same gang and are very caring like when Johnny went to get supplies because they were staying in an abandoned church, he saw gone with the wind he remembered pony wanted to read from he was a kid and he bought it to pass time. Also they both dislike dally and they are also similar in age only two years apart. they both also have a sensitive side both and like watching the sunset like when they were at the sunset after they went to the movies with socs girls, they were watching the sun set.
its really about how ponyboy told johnny about the poem so johnny to ponyboy to stay gold meaninng dont change...stay the way you are dont become like dally or anyone...
johnny likes to hangout by him self or follow the other gang member's, anything to keep him out of home. Ponyboy likes to watch the sunsets, watch movies, and play football, he is a great track funner and he loves hanging out with his big brother Sodapop. dallas like girls and party's, he will do anything as long as its illegal. all of the boys love to fight, smoke and show off mainly

The church was on fire and little kids were trapped inside and pony boy and johnny went in to get them then once all of the kids were out johnny threw out pony boy and dally hit pony on the back and he dropped like he was dead and then dally went in to save johnny who got hit in the back with a bunning piece of wood that came down from the church roof and then dally burnet his arm and all three of them went to the hospital and Tim sheperd was in the ambulance with ponyboy.
To get rid of all of the pain inside himself and because ponyboy isn't thinking straight.
he love him so much
In Chapter 6 of "The Outsiders," Johnny appears to be having the time of his life because he experiences a sense of freedom and joy while hiding out in the abandoned church with Ponyboy. The two boys bond over their shared experiences, reading "Gone with the Wind," and enjoying moments of camaraderie away from the pressures of their social struggles. Johnny's rare chance to escape his troubled home life and connect with Ponyboy gives him a glimpse of happiness, making him feel alive for the first time.
Johnny and Ponyboy ran to a church on a hill in windrixville. The church was later burned because of the possibility of a cigarette. Do I sOunD liKe a bOt NoW?
Because he was so relieved that Ponyboy was alive and okay (he even tells Pony that he thought that he had lost him like they lost their parents). He was probably feeling extremely guilty too about slapping Ponyboy (remember that if Ponyboy hadn't run out like that he and Johnny would have never gone to the park that night which meant that none of this would have ever even happened.)
