Penny has very bad taste in boy-friends -- both she and her father admit this -- and her romance with Leonard, as un-even as it has been, is far better than any other romantic relationship she has had. She puts up with Sheldon because he is Leonard's room-mate.
Also note that this show is almost a fantasy comedy -- NONE of the characters act in a realistic or logical manner. Penny is the archetypal "simpleton" in the story who has more wisdom than the supposedly wise people.
In "The Big Bang Theory," Sheldon says "Hello, Leonard. Do you like my bongos?" in Season 3, Episode 3, titled "The Electric Can Opener Fluctuation." This moment highlights Sheldon's quirky personality and his enthusiasm for playing the bongos, which he believes will help him connect with his friends. The scene adds to the show's humor and showcases the dynamics between Sheldon and Leonard.
If the show writers are smart, they will.
episode 8, season 3, 'The Adhesive Duck Deficiency'
In the episode titled "The Einstein Approximation," Leonard states that Sheldon has been emotionally stuck for "about 29 years." The episode aired in 2010 February, which would mean Sheldon was born about 1981. Jim Parsons, the actor who portrays Sheldon, was born in 1973.
There is no indication Season 10 will be the last for SpongeBob SquarePants. Considering it still pulls in top numbers, there's really no reason Nickelodeon would pull the plug just yet.
