Darry gets really upset with Ponyboy when he returns after his curfew. After saying that he fell asleep in the empty lot, Darry hits him for not thinking straight. This is when Ponyboy decides to run away so he finds Johnny Cade and they run to the park. This event leads up tho the moment when the Socs come and attack Ponyboy and Johnny in the park, which leads to Johnny killing Bob (a drunk soc) and the two running away to Windrixville.
