It's likely you accidentally knocked a wire loose or something. If you can find the temperature sensor, check the wires. Also check all around where the air filter is to see if there's anything loose there too.
=A Gage is gun a 12 gage=
change in temperature causes change in pressure
If you have a manual transmission the stop button on the clutch switch may have broken apart, replace the stop button to fix the cruise control. You can get one at any Nissan Dealership.
if your computer gets ripped out from above the front right tire then your gas gauge and everything else wont work. poor American engineering, they couldn't think of a better place for the computer
More than likely it is because it is in different conditions than the official weather stations thermometer. An official thermometer is in the shade and has air circulation. This is how an official temperature gauge has to be set up. The temperature reading from your car could be higher for a number of reasons, partially dependent on where the thermometer sensor is located. It could be in direct sunlight, near the engine, or if you are on pavement it could be receiving ambient heat waves coming off the pavement. All three of these things could increase the temperature reading of your gauge.
try replacing the thermostat
Try replacing temperature sensor
They are usually located in the spare whell bracket
Its the same as most cars.. Just under half way on the gauge.
In a 1996 Nissan Quest, the temperature gauge fuse is located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. You can find the fuse box by removing the cover, and the specific fuse for the temperature gauge is usually labeled in the diagram on the cover or in the owner's manual. If you're troubleshooting, check for a blown fuse and replace it if necessary.
It seems that your thermostat is not opening.
Because the motor is running to hot try flushing your radiator and putting new coolant in.
My Altima had that problem and it was the water pump going out. It started with temperature gauge was moving, but then it started leaking and finally the heater stopped being warm at idle.
If the engine temperature gauge on your 1996 Geo Tracker 4x4 is not working, it could be due to a faulty temperature sending unit, a broken gauge, or an issue with the wiring or connections. First, check the fuse related to the gauge and inspect the wiring for any visible damage. If those appear fine, consider replacing the temperature sending unit. If the problem persists, the gauge itself may need to be repaired or replaced.
Potenially a bad temperature sensor or bad contact on the wire connector. Test for set voltage resistance according to temperature.
If it reads hot after the vehicle has been standing overnight, it is dead and needs replacing.
Try checking Fuse #7 10amp under the dash. This is for a 1997 model.
