SEGA did put Amy in, so sonic could get annoyed by her and reject things from her like: Kisses, hugs, marriage proposals, Ect. the reason? SEGA wanted to add a sorta "Comic Releif" that would fallow sonic and fall in love wih him, but not the other way around with sonic. sonic hates her guts but gets friendly with her because...well, he's just that type of guy!
