Movies are rated R for a reason and they could be, horror like Hannibal, sex, language. I have watched some like Shaun of the Dead (spoof, funny but gory at parts), pulp fiction - has rape, and lots of violence. Another one is Saving Private Ryan which has a very gory and realistic war scene. I have watched Alien and it is really gory and there are some frightening scenes even for me. I mainly watch 15 because that's in my age group but i sometimes want to watch some 18s and Rs. They can be viewed on Sky and BBC channels. If you are planning on watching Rs then don't let little children watch them, because they are most likely to have nightmares for long periods of time.
