Tommy from Power Rangers is a legend because he's been the Green Ranger and the White Ranger during Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, he was the Red Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo and Turbo and he returned as the Red Zeo Ranger for an episode that's called "Forever Red" that took place during Power Rangers Wild Force and he also returned for Power Rangers Dino Thunder and became the Black Dino Ranger.

∙ 11y agoThere is no clear in-show reason in regards to Zordon choosing Tommy to become the new leader of the Power Rangers in the episode that's titled "White Light, Part 2" other than he was just promoting him however the behind-the-scenes reasoning behind it is because Zordon's lines were redubbed since by the time they got to the ADR session for "White Light, Part 2," the actor that plays Jason, Austin St. John had already walked off the set due to a salary dispute.

In season 2, Tommy became the White Ranger. That's when he had the sword with a tiger's head known as Saba. Saba would talk to Tommy and give him advice in a battle as well as activate the tigerzord. Didn't hear much of him in season 3.
