Mental health issues can be debilitating, and it sounds like this woman may have something along those lines that is untreated. It is best not to take her behavior personally but to realize that she's a bit sick and would benefit from psychological counselling, etc.
Mental illness, are you kidding me? They were once married. It's not as easy for some people to just turn off their feelings as it is for others. They have history and a small child together. Where are you getting mental health issues? Sounds more like hurt, unresolved feelings to me.
