A lot of types of dinosaur went extinct ~65 million years ago: Like the tyrannosaurs, the sauropods, ceratopsians, hadrosaurs.
However one group did survive the mass extinction. And if just one group of dinosaurs suvives then technically the group dinosuaria has survivied.
Modern day Birds are dinosaurs. Birds are maniraptorian theropod dinosaurs.
There are approximately twice as many dinosaur (bird) species alive today than there are mammals! So they are doing quite well actually.
