Practicals are important in engineering to complement the knowledge acquired theoretically. Also our practical knowledge will last longer than the theoretical knowledge. since when we learn something practically, we will know that certain things cannot not be accomplished practically (as in the case of the Carnot engine, which only imaginary and has an efficiency of 100% and no such practical engine exists till now!)

ANS2:A qualifying score on a Practical (Examination) confirms that the engineer has, in fact, learned to process and apply the subject matter.
