Ciel Phantomhive gets tortured when he was younger because he was supposed to be sacrificed to a religion. they tortured him because they where bad people and he was so young and weak they took advantage. they raped and beat him within an inch of his life for a month. then once they where about to do the final blow Ciel thought "there is no god. if there was why would he let them do this to me?" and Sebastian heard him and offered him a contract in exchange for his soul once his revenge has been fulfilled.
