The late Curly Howard was replaced by his brother Shemp Howard after Curly suffered a stroke while on set on May 6, 1946 .
I believe curly died first due to a series of strokes. Many people think shemp died since curly replaced him however, curly replaced him because shemp went on to work in other films. after culy suffered a dibilitating stroke in the mid 1940's shemp returned. He later died of a massive heart attack and was replaced by curly joe. Larry died next from a stroke followed by moe from lung cancer.
Yes, all of them had blue eyes. I found it surprising when I read it at the Stoogeum, the Three Stooges museum in PA. They have IDs and licenses and other things from the Stooges in there, and all of them said the four Stooges (Moe, Curly, Shemp, and Larry) all had blue eyes.
Generically they were Larry, Curly and Moe. But in reality there were a total of SIX stooges that filled the roles. Originally Larry and Moe Fine, and Shemp Howard. Shemp was replaced with Jerry "Curly" Fine, and later by "Joe" Besser. The last stooge was Joe Derita as "Curly Joe".
Six. When the Three Stooges began making two reelers for Columbia in 1934, the Stooges were Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard. Curly suffered a stroke in 1946 and was replaced by his brother Shemp Howard. Shemp passed away from a heart attack in 1955 and was replaced by Joe Besser. When Columbia quit making two reelers in 1958, Joe Besser left the team and was replaced by Joe DiRita who played with Moe and Larry in several films in the 1960s.
Moe, Harry and Curly (Curly Joe, in reality) was the last lineup of "The Three Stooges". In the early seventies, and once it became evident that Larry wasn't going to be able to return to acting, Moe decided to cast long time supporting actor Emil Sitka as the new 'middle stooge'. Sitka (only actor to have worked with all of the other stooges) decided to create a character named 'Harry' who would be self-conscious to the point of ridicule. Moe and Curly Joe started working with their new partner and soon they got an agreement to star in a new movie. However, Moe's health deteriorated quickly and those plans had to be scratched (the surviving Ritz brothers starred in that movie instead). Moe Howard died a couple of months later, something that put an end to the Stooges' career. Sitka was not 'officialized' as a stooge and never got to perform in public as such, which is why he's not recognized as one of the six originals (Moe, Curly, Larry, Shemp, Joe, Curly Joe). Emil Sitka died in 1998, he was the last surviving stooge. More info, here: http://lfwaterloo.blogspot.com/2009/10/soitenly-11-moe-harry-and-curly-joe.html
Curly and Moe are 2 of the 3 Stooges. The other is Larry. The odd thing is that Curly has a buzz cut and Larry has curly hair.

The Stooges were commonly known by their first names: "Larry, Moe, and Curly" and "Moe, Larry, and Shemp," among other lineups. The act originally featured Moe Howard (born Harry [Moshe] Moses Horwitz in 1897), brother Shemp Howard (born [Shmuel] Samuel Horwitz), and longtime friend Larry Fine (born Louis [Levi] Feinberg). Shemp was later replaced by brother Curly Howard (born Jerome Lester [Yehudah-Leib] Horwitz October 22, 1903). When Curly suffered a debilitating stroke in 1946, Shemp rejoined the act.

Well, Curly and Moe were brothers and Larry was a friend. I'm not sure how shimp and curly joe all played in, but I know that about Moe, Larry and Curly because my mom is such a huge fan of the Stooges!
Yes. Moe (Moses Horwitz), Curly (Jerome Horwitz), and Shemp (Samuel Horwitz) were brothers and all were born in Brooklyn, New York. Shemp was the oldest (born in 1895), Curly the youngest (born in 1903), and Moe in the middle (born in 1897). There were two other older brothers that very little is known about.
Moe Howard probably since he had a better sense of business than the other Stooges Larry and Shemp . Ted Healy would have liked to claim he invented the Stooges but this is not true because The Three stooges became the famous trio after leaving Ted Healy .
Moses Horwitz. Curly and Shemp (Jerome Lester and Samuel) were Moe's real life brothers. Larry (Louis Fienberg), Joe Derita (Joseph Wardell) and Joe Besser (real name) completed list other stooges
