∙ 6y agoThere doesn't seem to be any 'real' answer as to Why the show ended. There could be a few possibilities, One of which, it wasn't cancelled by Cartoon Network but was ended by its creator/show runner, after all the hour long episode, Ego Trip was intended by the creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, to be the series finale but it went on for two more seasons.
This is probably the most likely scenario since it was still getting good ratings & had merchandising from it.
