Mainly because it was a massive tragedy. Partly because of the arrogance of the people who built and handled her. Also because it was the biggest ship ever built at the time. Next, it was one in a string of sinkings which ended up putting White Star Line out of business.

first stream liner of its size and was the first cruise ship to travel the distance. it was supposedly the first unsinkable ship of its size and weight. it is also famous because of all the jewls and jewelery it was carrying and all the extremely rich people that were on board when it crashed.
