its when t.v's were like invented i suppose, maybe, ithink
Television was invented in the late 1930's but development was postponed by World War II. In the 1950's, when television began to hit it's stride, many movie theaters went out of business. That's when you began to see innovations such as Cinerama and other wide screen formats.
Actually many movie theaters went out of business in the 1950's. Television was becoming more mainstream (more people owned sets). So theater-going went down. Movie companies created wide screen formats like Cinerama to try to compete with television.
Americans in the 1920s were enamored by movies because it gave them an escape from everyday life. They were a great social equalizer that allowed all classes of people to imagine a different and exciting life.
Because it was new to them and very entertaining just like it is to us these days.

While televison was invented during the 1930's, it didn't become mainstream until after World War II. Going to the movie theater was one of the main entertainments of the time. News Reels, Cartoons and shorts were shown before the main film.
one is the large number of Americans who moved to the suburbs since there was an industrial boom and farmers weren't doing so swell.
There wasn't any tv in the 1920s. The first public demonstration was in the 1920s, though, so you can search "first tv ever".
Like Americans, they watch a variety of different movies from many different cultures. So they watch French movies and American movies with the characters speaking french or french subtitles.
Silent movies were the first movies invented, in the 1890s. People in the USA and France liked looking at moving pictures better than still photos, so they invented movies. Because of the difficulty of matching sound with picture, most films were silent until the end of the 1920s when The Jazz Singer (with Al Jolson) was released. Since then, most movies have had talking to go with the movies. I am sure if they could have invented the talking movie in the 1890s, they would have.
well it is said that they made movies for entertainment and laughter so that is why they made movies

The government wanted to prevent government secrets to not make the paperrs so they would accuse people of being communists and throw them in jail.
It's when you get so excited by something - you are temporarily speechless.
Well they did have school in the 1920s so I'm guessing yes, they did.
Yes they did. Just watch some old movies. Hattie McDaniel (Mammy in Gone With the Wind) when chastened for playing so many maids in movies said "I would rather make 150.00 a week playing a maid than be one for 15.00".

i think suffrage groups in the 1920s fight so hard for the right to vote because they were very
Real life has sound all around us. So to portray life in a more realistic way, movie technicians developed a way to include recorded sound with motion pictures. This happened in the late 1920s.
