Ponyboy and Johnny were blowing off some steam at a local park after Darry hit Pony, and the Socs came to teach them a lesson for picking up their broad girls. The fight started with the Socs saying a remark (it was " You know what a greaser is? White trash with long hair".) Then Pony got so frustrated that he said "You know what a Soc is? White trash with Mustangs and madras." Then spits in their faces. The Socs tried to drown Ponyboy and almost succeeded until Johnny pulled his switchblade out and stabbed Bob, (Bob beat up Johnny badly earlier) and the others ran. Did you read the book?

∙ 14y agoJohnny killed Bob in the park with a switchblade that he keeps in his back pocket ever since he was beat up, he killed Bob because he was drowning ponyboy.
