This is correct. However the manga is different then the series. They follow the same story but different things happen within each one. Even the Video Games.

Sasuke,Jugo,Suigetsu,and Karin go on missions for the akatsuki.
They capture the 8 tails and Sasuke goes to konoha but to destory it!
But he is delayed because Tobi told him that he betrayed the akatsuki.
So Sasuke Might Come To Konoha But To Destory It!

∙ 13y agoSasuke as of now bears extreme hatred towards konoha and wishes to destroy it to the ground. He has also commited murder and is an internationally acclaimed criminal, hence, conversely even konoha will no longer accept him.
His mind was poisoned by Orochimaru and Madara, who revealed to him that his clan was in reality on bad terms with the rest of the village and the clan's genocide was effected by an order from the Hokage.
Sasuke is currently a minion of Madara and will be deployed in the Foruth Great Ninja War to fight against the Five Nations.

Yes.kabuto is going to bring itachi back to life and then sasuke will meet him and itachi is going to tell why did he wiped out entire clan the truth is that itachi wiped out his clan because he didn't want madara to wipe out entire clan (including sasuke)

because Naruto is the main character, Naruto can't end up looking bad because he failed to bring Sasuke back because that's one of his goals!
if Naruto were to fail to bring Sasuke back then this could affect people's enjoyment of the story!

Sasuke agrees to have Taka (a team of individuals assembled to aid him in finding Itachi) work with the Akatsuki by capturing the eight-tailed beast, who later manages to escape. After recovering, Sasuke and Taka head to Konoha, only to learn that the village has been destroyed by Pain.
