From what i have heard the studio who produced it have it planned to happen.

(due to the Abrupt ending and so) they are just trying to figure out a plot and such.

No. But if you watched the anime I suggest reading the manga. The anime is only half of what the manga is.

Nope.

It's probably the same case as either Full Metal Alchemist or Evangelion.

They either caught up to the original manga too much, and had to come up with their own story/ending, or they ran out of money and had to end it.

The manga DOES go for a bit longer, and me personally, I liked the manga's ending MUCH better.

SO I doubt there will ever be a second season, because they have so little to work with.

Even if there was going to be one, it would probably be a remake of the entire series, which I highly doubt will ever happen.

The closest thing we can hope for is an Elfen Lied movie, or "Alternate ending arc OVA" or something like that.

So sorry, but as far as I know, there isn't a second series.

i think there will be ( my opinion) because at the end there is the new world ( the world had to re-born) they all have to meet to open the real paradise and honestly the world had to re-born to clear the evil( they need to meet in the new world to open a new and better paradise) but the most likely to be is no maybe b cuz the aauthor dint want that :/ i dont know then maybe ask the author :)
