Will there be another Buffy series made?

There already is a movie. It's called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and it tells the story of her finding out shes the slayer and shows her burning down her school gym. It came out in 1992 and the series started in 1997.

"Season Eight" is being written by Joss Whedon, and it is in comic book form. Angel: After the Fall, however, is NOTbeing penned by Joss Whedon. An omnibus is a collection of comic books, of which both comics are being released.

There will not be another Buffy tv show based on the character of Buffy. Sarah Michelle Gellar said there was nothing left for the show to do (as she saw it,) and Joss politely agreed. She also did not show up at the cast party, and she didn't invite any of her 'friends' from the show to her wedding. The general impression I get is that she was just tired of playing Buffy. But lo-and-behold, Joss HAS gone ahead and continued the story in two comic books (and three if you count the Spike spin-off.) Apparently he still has something to say, as the comics are receiving critical acclaim, particularly the Buffy comics. Now, yes, Sarah has said she would be interested in doing the show again. But look at the facts: 1. She disassociated herself with the show and the people who made it happen in the end. 2. She had a movie career. (Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo 2) 3. She has now flopped in Hollywood. ANY WOMAN can do a Horror flick (The Grudge, The Grudge 2,) and name one movie she's hit big with since her days on the set of Buffy, keeping in mind that Cruel Intentions was released in 1999 and can not apply toward an answer. So it makes sense that she's up for rekindling that ole' Buffy career at this point in her, um, "career."

There are recent rumors (circa Dec. 2008) that Joss Whedon is looking to give a revamped Buffy movie a shot after the success of Twilight. He's also mentioned a script for a Spike-centric movie, but I last heard about that in 2007 and haven't heard anything since. His attention has been on making Dollhouse happen.

Unfortunately, there will be a new Buffy the vampire slayer movie in 2012. I am a huge fan of the TV. series, and I do not wish to see a remake of it without Joss Whedon, or any of the original actors, or even without the original story line. That is exactly what the new movie will be. Joss Whedon wisely did not wish to have anything to do with the film, and Anthony Stewart Head stated that it would be much like viewing a car accident . Fran Rubel Kuzui, the director of the original movie which bombed will be relaunching it, which is extremely disappointing to many Buffy fans who say that they do not wish to see it.
