Will there be another death note series?

So the last person that answered this wasnt very smart (to say the least). They answered "probably not" while the CORRECT answer is YES. There is already one novel out called Deathnote: Another Note the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. It's a very good novel with L as a main character and Naomi Misora (the retired FBI agent, remember? She had a very small role in Death Note but she was the woman that Kira killed and tried to make it seem as if she had kiiled herself from the depression of her boyfriend [another FBI agent killed by Kira, the one light met on the bus, I don't remember his name and I don't feel like looking. If you've read Death Note you should remember him] and L said something ling the line of "I worked with her and she is too strong to have killed herself." or something like that) and it's also staring another character we have never met before, Beyond Birthday (BB). He's the bad guy. He's trying to create a case that even L cant solve. The story's teller in this novel is also someone that we should all remember from Death Note, Mello.

Well in all this was a great novel. It's less focused on magic and more on mystory, though it does have a small bit of magic mixed in. And for people that liked L this book will be very good. Though, in my opinion there wasn't enough L in it, more of Naomi Misora who ended up being very smart and very funny/sarcastic.

There may be more novels like this to come (hopfully) because Mello states that L told him of THREE stories. This one being one of those three. I hope this is more to come and I hope this answer surfices better than "probably not".

There's no official manga or anime sequel.

But the Live Action movie that was based on the manga, simply called Death Note (which is also being considered for an American remake) spawned a Sequel, That continues the story from where the story left off, But has a different ending to the Manga/Anime, titled Death Note: The Last Name.

Then after that, There was a spin-off movie from the live action versions, called L: Change The World, Which centers around L, And his last 23 days alive. There is also a novel version of L: Change The World, with minor plot differences.

And if you want a prequel like story to Death Note, Then I suggest you read the novel Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases, Which tells the tale of Naomi Misora and the case she was working on with L prior to Death Note.

Mind you that all of the above are NOT CANON and were created by different people than the original creators of the Death Note manga, Writer Tsugumi Ohba and Mangaka Takeshi Obata.
