The Hawaiian Islands are not floating in the sea- they're land masses. Think of them as really tall mountains rising from the sea floor, with the tops sticking out above the water.
Atlantic
The northen Atlantic ocean
the Titanic sank about 1000 meters down.
Because of buoyancy. Even though the steel of the ship weighs a lot more then water, the ship also has a lot of air in it (the ship is not a solid chuck of steel), the lightness of the air off sets the heaviness of the steel to allow it to float.
the sea would rise because the boats are pushing it out. and it would be very crowded! lol ;)
New Islands are born and some sink back into the sea.
it doesn't sink
The islands do not float, and cannot sink. Think of the islands as being REALLY tall mountains- that start on the sea floor and go up from there. Part of the mountain is above water.
Because it hit an iceberg
The body of water you will never sink in is The Dead Sea, because it has allot of salt and the salt will push you to the top of the water THEREFORE you WILL NOT sink.
because its made of wood which is easy to break out at sea
The dead sea is not called the dead sea because people sink in it and die, it's called that because there is no water flow, and no creatures swim in it. That is why it is called the dead sea. It doesn't seem to exist, it's like it is dead.
The lowest point in Hawaii is in the Pacific Ocean at sea level. what the heck!
I guess you could sink a ship??
Parts of Hawaii are at sea level- since Hawaii is a series of islands. However, parts of Hawaii are WELL above sea level. Mauna Kea on the island of Hawaii is over 13,000 feet above sea level.
Asphalt, being denser than water, will sink when placed in sea water. This is because the density of asphalt is about 1.36 g/cm³, while sea water has a density of around 1.025 g/cm³.
Mercury is a heavy metal, it will sink in sea water.
